Guardia Civil officers in Cañada del Rosal, Sevilla, have charged a man with attempted murder after he attacked a courier delivering a package to his home.
The courier, an employee of a shipping company, apparently arrived at the home of the detainee with a package and a bill for €149.41. However, the intended recipient of the package refused to pay the bill and grabbed a knife, threatening to kill the courier.
When police arrived at the scene they found the alleged assailant on the roof armed with a replica weapon and it took them 15 minutes to persuade him to surrender.
The courier was taken to the Hospital de Ecija in Sevilla suffering from a deep stab wound to the hand.
The detainee, initials J.A.V.F., is known as a violent character and has been involved in a multitude of prior incidents.
