The National Police are investigating the theft of a number of 17th and 18th century artefacts from the church of Santiago in Baza, Granada.
A parish processional cross from 1750, a valuable historical object, was amongst the items stolen. It is thought that the theft took place between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, an early hypothesis being that the thief hid in the church when it closed on Tuesday afternoon.
