Thirty-nine provinces, including all eight in Andalucia, are now on alert for low temperatures which, in some areas, could fall to -9 degrees.
Around Guadix and Baza in Granada province the temperatures could drop to -7 degrees, while Jaén, Antequera and Ronda could see temperatures of -5 degrees.
Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza could see the mercury drop to around -9 degrees today, especially in the mountains.
