The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) has been carrying out a study on biodiversity in the Southern Ocean and has released a set of pictures of marine life in the area.
The images were taken in the Bellingshausen Sea, West Antarctica, and feature such marine creatures as ice fish, sea pigs, basket stars, rare rays, octopuses and other magnificent specimens.
