Messi business in Sevilla

Two people have been arrested in Sevilla on charges of crimes against intellectual property after they were caught trying to leave the port with, amongst others, 802 counterfeit ‘Messi’ football shirts.

Guardia Civil officers stopped a van as it was leaving the customs area of the port and asked to check the load. Inside the van were a number of sealed boxes which, when opened, were found to contain football shirts.

The shirts related to the away colours of Barcelona, the Barcelona B team and 802 with the name ‘Messi’ emblazened on the back.

The shirts were apparently of high quality with all the necessary, albeit copied, certificates of authenticity.
