The International Festival of Music and Dance at the Nerja Caves will take place from July 17th to 21st and, following a change in the presidency of the Nerja Caves Foundation, the event will be presented in Nerja and not in Málaga.
The new president of the Nerja Caves Foundation and deputy Minister in Málaga, Jorge Hernández Mollar, met with the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, to pass on the news and to say that work on the poster and schedule will be starting soon.
The deputy Minister said the programme would be of high quality but would also take into account the austerity measures required during difficult times.
This announcement is seen as heralding a new era of cooperation between the town of Nerja and the Nerja Caves Foundation, rather than the party political bickering, tit for tat manoeuvres and personal clashes one has become accustomed to for a number of years.
