Museums at Easter

As a compliment, or even alternative, to the traditional Easter celebrations, the museums in Andalucia managed by the Ministry of Culture will be open every day and with normal hours except for Thursday and Friday when they will only be open for part of the day.

The Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (The Andalucian Centre of Contemporary Art) will be open on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 to 15:00 (normal Sunday hours) and will be presenting a number of exhibitions.

Almeria Museum will be open from 09:00 to 14:30 on both holidays and is hosting a temporary exhibition entitled ‘Al hilo del blanco’.

Cádiz Museum will also be open from 09:00 to 14:30 on both holidays with a temporary exhibition on the legacy of Cádiz and the historical memory. The Provincial Museum has an exhibition commemorating the 1812 Constitution entitled ‘Espacio de 2012’.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Córdoba will be open from 08:30 to 14:00 and hosts an exhibition entitled  ‘Another look at Julio Romero deTorres’.

In Jaén, the Provincial Museum has an exhibition by the British artist Susan Mowbray entitled ‘Cantes de Ida y Vuelta’ as well as one about the artist Antoni ‘Tàpies.

The Alhambra Museum in Granada will be open from 08:30 to 13:45 on both holidays.

Museo de Málaga has two exhibitions, one by the painter José Nogales Sevilla and another entitled ‘Génesis de una colección’ (Birth of a Collection) which tells the story of the Málaga Art Gallery.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Sevilla has a temporary exhibition entitled ‘sobre Gonzalo Bilbao’ (About Gonzalo Bilbao) as well as housing the canvas ‘Resurrección del Señor’ (Resurrection of the Lord) by  Murillo.
