Sherry sales down in February

The president of the Regulatory Council of Denomination of Origin Jerez-Xérès-Sherry, Manzanilla de Sanlucar and Jerez Vinegar has announced that sales of Jerez wine (sherry) fell by 5.8% in February when compared to 2011.

The largest drop was in the domestic market which was down by 8% on last year. There is some optimism, however, due to a rise in the UK and Dutch markets and a 16% increase in Asia.

On the other hand, sales of Jerez vinegar have fallen 12% due to a reduction in consumption in France.
