A 19th minute goal from Isco gave the Blue and Whites a great start against Real Sociedad at La Rosaleda but it all finished in a 1-1 draw after Prieto equalised just after the restart. Málaga remain in fourth place, two points behind Valencia who were hammered by Espanyol.
Gómez, Verdú, Vázquez and Uche did the damage for Espanyol in the 0-4 defeat but Valencia hold to third place and an automatic berth into next season’s Champions League, results elsewhere going their way.
