The bicycle rental service, introduced in April 2011 but then abandoned three months later due to the failure to make provision for repairs and damage, is due to start again in the summer.
The system will resume with 98 bicycles and this time, the concessionaire will be responsible for both the management of the system and for maintenance and repair of the bicycles. The idea is that the service will be zero cost for the municipal coffers, which are empty anyway.
The Council will adopt ordinances relating to price, expected to be around €2 for four hours and up to €25 for a full month, deposits to be paid, between €20 and €30 depending upon the time of year, and fines for vandalism, these ranging between €101 and €300.
