A 66 year oold man, initials FNN, has died in the ICU at the Hospital de Poniente in El Ejido, Almeria, two months after being shot while trying to stop someone from stealing his car.
The attempted robbery occurred on May 5th 2012 in calle Sotillo in the village of Santa María del Aguila. When F.N.N. resisted, he was shot twice, once in the leg and once in the chest, the latter shot damaging a lung. He spent the next two months in hospital but his condition did not improve and he eventually died from his wounds.
The perpetrator, who had been released from Albalote prison in October 2011 after serving a five year sentence, was initially charged with the alleged crime of attempted murder.
