The Guardia Civil are investigating the death of a baby during a fire at a house in Torrijos, Toledo, where the father also died by jumping from the balcony and the mother is in hospital having suffered multiple blows to the head with a blunt instrument.
Although not yet confirmed, this is believed to be yet another case of domestic violence.
The baby showed no external signs of violence but the cause of death has yet to be determined. The father, a Moroccan national, is thought to have commited suicide by jumping from the balcony of the home.
The mother is in a critical condition in hospital after having suffered multiple blows to the head with a blunt instrument.
