Five people have been arrested and 1,600 kilos of hashish seized following a raid on a house in Mijas Costa, Málaga province.
The gang, made up of different nationalities, was engaged in the smuggling of drugs to the UK, Holland and Ireland and would regularly change address in order to try and avoid detection.
In addition to the drugs, a loaded 9mm pistol was also seized in the police raid. The detainees are aged between 32 and 67 years.
The investigation, codenamed ‘Sarco’, began late last year and further arrests have not been ruled out.
