A 25 year old man, a Canadian of Arab origin, is in a serious condition in hospital after diving off a jetty into shallow water at the Hotel Marbella Club in Marbella.
The incident occurred at around 18:00 when the man decided to dive into the shallow, sandy area from the jetty. The water was less than two metres deep at this point and he suffered severe head trauma.
After being given CPR at the scene, the injured man was airlifted to the Carlos Haya hospital in Málaga. The prognosis is reported to be ‘poor’.
