Back to textbooks and notepaper

The School Plan TIC 2.0, which since 2009 has resulted in 76,000 laptop computers being made available to students and teachers throughout Málaga province, has been suspended due to the need to allocate resources to more fundamental needs, such as the payment of teacher salaries.

Students throughout the primary and secondary education system have become accustomed to learning via multimedia and interactive means, receiving tasks and having them corrected via email etc, but as from September, pupils from Primary 5th to Secondary 2 will have to revert to the old-fashioned method of text books and notepaper.

The expansion of the School Plan has been put on hold and an estimated 16,000 pupils will attend Primary 5th in September without the provision of computers. The Ministry does not have the finances to continue to expand the programme and the teachers need to be paid.
