The Junta de Andalucia has initiated an investigation into the latest fire at the agricultural waste management centre ‘Albaida’ in La Mojonera, Almeria. It is the second serious incident in ten months.
The fire has created thick smoke and necessitated evacuating a number of people from their homes in Viso. The fire is expected to continue burning for many hours, possible even days, although the fire retardant nature of the site means it is highly unlikely to spread.
