Málaga coach Pellegrini made several changes to the side following their impressive win against Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifying match earlier in the week, but they still managed to draw 1-1 with visiting Mallorca to maintain their unbeaten record.
Mallorca went ahead in the 67th minute through Hemed, but the Blue and Whites equalised ten minutes later with a goal from substitute Juabni. Málaga ended the match with only ten men after Eliseu was ordered back to the dressing room for reatliation.
