Hootsuite, the social media application, has just acquired fellow application Seesmic and users will need to migrate. Seesmic became a ‘freemium’ application not that long ago – free for limited use, pay if you want full use/tools etc – just as Hootsuite did a long time ago. What I found most interesting was the following text:
If you have been using Seesmic for personal use or are a casual user, then we suggest you explore your many options including the new tools, apps and features available at Twitter.com
In other words, ‘pay up’ or ‘go away’.
