A young girl, less than three years old, suffered serious facial injuries on Tuesday after being attacked by a dog in Málaga.
The girl was taken to the Hospital Materno Infantil where, after an initial assessment, she underwent surgery. In addition to closing the wounds, she was given a skin graft to the face and is now recovering in the main ward.
As is customary with dog attacks, standard protocols were enacted such as placing the animal in quarantine, checking for disease, determining whether the dog has an owner or is abandoned and whether or not it has had the regulation vaccinations.
