Thursday was the first meeting of the committee set up to produce the Strategic Plan for Nerja, with the Planning and Development Company, SOPDE, representing the provincial government.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, various Councillors and the head of SOPDE, Angel Castilla.
In this meeting, the members agreed the steps to be followed for the implementation of the Strategic Plan, the first action being to develop diagnostics by conducting a number of surveys and collecting data.
At a later stage and in collaboration with the provincial government, the information will be analysed to adopt measures that impact the municipality’s economic development in the tourism, agricultural and commercial sectors.
Meetings are now scheduled to take place at regular intervals.
