Two people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of a taxi driver in Rincón de la Victoria on October 17th. They are charged with the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, illegal detention and assaulting an officer of the law.
In the early hours of October 17th, Guardia Civil officers approached two individuals to obtain identification but the two men fled and in Avenida del Mediterráneo got into a taxi. They then threatened the driver with a knife, robbed him of his takings and forced him to drive to an isolated area on an industrial estate.
The taxi driver said he feared for his life as the two men threatened him. Fortunately, he managed to escape and alerted the police.
The detainees are two brothers aged 46 years and 33 years and they have been remanded in custody.
