National Police in Almeria have arrested a 32 year old North African woman on charges of attempted murder after she allegedly tried to kill herself and her two children, aged 2 and 6 years, by severing the tube on a butane gas bottle in the home.
The incident happened at around midday in the Pescadería district of Almeria. Neighbours alerted the police who were able to prevent the death of any of the individuals.
The woman is now in custody in the psychiatric unit at Torrecárdenas hospital and the two children have been taken into care.
