The Council has also approved a new rates tax to, in effect, legalise those homes and other buildings built on rural, non-urban or otherwise non-developable land. Last March, the Junta de Andalucia approved the possible ‘regularisation’ of many of the illegal constructions in the region. The rates for such formerly illegal buildings will be 3.5% of the budgeted cost of construction materials.
