On Wednesday morning, a municipal employee working in a park near urbanisation Riviera del Sol in Mijas came across a rucksack bearing the name ‘Parcesam’, the company managing the cemetery in San Cayetano, Fuengirola. Inside the backpack was an urn containing ashes.
The urn bore a name and the ashes were identified as being those of a foreign woman. Local Police located the widower but he apparently refused to accept the ashes and stated if they were returned to him again he would just get rid of them again.
The police are now trying to determine what to do with the ashes.
