The Councillor for Traffic, Inocencia Quintera, has been attending a meeting in Torremolinos with representatives of other municipalities on the Costa del Sol to discuss intrusion into the taxi industry and ways to combat the situation.
The Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Axarquia want to set up a protocol for coordinated joint action between the regional government and local municipalities to stop this intrusion which, they say, harms the industry and creates a bad ‘image’ for towns.
They also want to try and homogenize the bylaws of the various municipalities on the Costa del Sol. Further meetings are planned.
