The Council is requesting the Junta de Andalucia to include necessary repairs to the Colegio San Miguel in avenida Castilla Perez in the OLA programme – Plan for Employment Opportunities in Andalucia.
The school leaks badly whenever there is heavy rain and responsibility for such repairs does not, apparently, lie with the Council, therefore the request for funding.
A few months ago, the Council made a similar request relating to the Nueva Nerja school, an old facility which was renovated in phases but now needs an upgrade.
The Council is hoping that the Junta de Andalucia will respond favourably to both requests and a meeting has been requested with the delegate for Education, Patricia Alba, to discuss these matters.
