A 59 year old man who was about to be evicted from his home for non-payment of rent has committed suicide in the town of Santesteban in Navarra.
The man apparently owed about €4,200 in rent for the apartment he rented with his girlfriend. The Court of Instruction Number 4 had already decreed that the eviction could go ahead due to non-payment of rent and the eviction could have taken place today.
Police are now investigating whether the death and the pending eviction were related.
