The Feria Real in Algeciras, Cádiz province, is to be reduced from nine days to five days in 2013 due to the continuing economic crisis. It will take place from Tuesday June 18th to Sunday June 23rd and the local holiday is also being moved from the traditional Monday to Wednesday June 19th.
The decision, contemplated for several years now, was taken after discussions with local organisations and other groups involved in the celebrations. The Feria Real is the biggest celebration on the calendar in Algeciras.
