ERTE instead of ERE in Huelva

Urbaser, the municipal concessionaire for the cleaning and maintenance of parks and gardens in Huelva, has reached an agreement with the unions which will avoid the application of an ERE (Employment Regulation Expedient) affecting 25 of its 90 employees.

There will now be no redundancies but an ERTE (Temporary Employment Regulation Expedient) will be applied which will mean a 28% reduction in hours and salaries of the workforce.

The original contract with Urbaser was for €3.5 million, but in the past year the Council has reduced this amount to €2.6 million for the same service, meaning that changes were inevitable.
