An inflatable craft carrying 21 Algerians, two of them children, was intercepted on Thursday night about four miles off Punta Polacra in the municipality of Nijar, Almeria.
The small boat, with a 40 hp motor, was detected by the SIVE surveillance system of the Guardia Civil at around 20:00 and the passengers arrived in Almeria port at 22:00.
After being assisted by the Red Cross, the passengers, all in apparent good health, were handed over to the National Police.
