The Council plans to send a another request to the Junta de Andalucia for Nerja to be included in the Housing Rehabilitation Scheme under the Emergency Plan for Employment in Málaga Province. There are apparently 93 pending applications within the municipality.
Nerja Council requested on a number of occasions to be included in the 2009 Housing Rehabilitation Plan, submitting documentation to the Provincial Housing and Planning Department but apparently received no response.
Fourteen local residents benefited under the Housing Rehabilitation Plan for 2008, although the Junta has only just issued the grants for those repairs.
