Now is the time for owners of establishments wishing to occupy public roads with tables, chairs, platforms and other items to submit their applications for this year.
Applications need to be submitted at least one month in advance of actual occupation of the public roads. In the case of renewals, applicants must attach a photocopy of their 2012 application, a written commitment to comply with the rules and proof of payment of the fee for 2012.
Grocers and greengrocers are reminded that under the food laws, fruits and vegetables cannot be displayed for sale on the public roads.
Applications can be made at the Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano (OAC) in the Town Hall.
The deadline for applications to operate a temporary ice cream kiosk during the period March 1st to September 30th is February 20th. The application forms are available at the Town Hall and more information can be obtained via the municipal website, www.velezmalaga.es.
