One workman died and two others were injured on Thursday evening in an industrial accident in Castillo de Locubín, Jaén.
The worker who died was cleaning the inside an oil silo when he was overcome by gases and lost consciousness. Two other workmen went in to try and rescue the unconscious man but they too were affected by the gases and the attempted rescue was unsuccessful.
It was members of the Alcalá la Real Fire Brigade who eventually got the two injured men out and they were transferred to hospital. Unfortunately, their companion died from his injuries.
