The Ministry of Industry is introducing a new mechanism for calculating the price to be charged for gas and this, as one might expect, means that the cost of a bottle of butane gas will be going up. It is anticipated that the price of a bottle will rise from the current €16.10 to €17:50 by May 2013.
The Ministry has set the maximum price for the year at €17.50, although it will have the power to raise this if it feels it is necessary.
The price of gas will now be reviewed every two months, on the second Tuesday of odd months, rather than the current quarterly system. March and May, therefore, are likely to see increases in the cost of a bottle of butane gas.
