The rainy season has claimed its first victim, a 54 year old man from La Peza in Granada. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
The man apparently tried to take a shortcut back home during the rains and got into trouble crossing the Río Fardes.
He was reported missing last night and today his vehicle was found in the river and his lifeless body 200 metres further downstream. La Peza has declared three days of mourning.
