Nine vehicles were burned to varying degrees in the early hours of Monday morning in calle Bocana in Las Flores, Málaga, They had apparently been doused in petrol and a preliminary police investigation into the fire suggests this could have been a deliberate act.
Four vans were completely charred in the blaze which was reported by local residents in the area.
Police contacted the owners of the affected vehicles and it transpires that several of them had been sold, apparently to one individual.
Specialists at the scene detected a strong smell of petrol which, they believe, was sprayed over the vehicles and on the asphalt to act as an accelerant to spread the fire.
