A homeless man sleeping on a bench in plaza de la Constitución, Fuengirola, was injured after a fellow indigent poured flammable liquid over him and set fire to him.
The victim was a 64 year old Spanish national, the perpetrator a 54 year old Danish national. Being asleep, the victim did not notice as the flames spread to his legs.
A street cleaner in the area realised what was happening and went to help the injured man. The victim suffered burns to the legs but they are not said to be serious.
