The 37 employees at the Veraparaiso residential home for the elderly in Almeria have not been paid so far this year and no materials have been provided in order for them to carry out their duties as carers.
The company operating the care home got into financial trouble in 2011 and introduced a temporary ERE to try and alleviate their problems, although they failed to adhere to the established conditions.
The workers have appealed to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and to the labour authorities to intervene.
