Popped into the new Saloon to find out what was happening. The Saloon is a new, large bar and eatery on avenida Castilla Perez, opposite the junction with calle Fray Junipero Serra.
The decor is basically American Wild West, with lots of photos of stagecoaches, indigenous native Americans and bovine management operatives, although most seem to be taken from films.
Interesting tables and chairs of different sizes, some pretty high. The food I saw, again basically American, looked delicious and the portions were huge. The beer on tap is Budweiser, as one might expect, and there is the traditional large mirror behind the bar.
There is a small street terrace. A friendly welcome, plenty of space. Could do well. A beer and a tapas will set you back €1.80.
