If the members of all political groups agree, the football ground will bear the name ‘José Luis Bobadilla Bueno’. The idea has been proposed by the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, in recognition of the contribution to sport in the town made by José Luis Bobadilla Bueno.
José Luis Bobadilla Bueno has been involved in local sport throughout his life, including football, basketball, handball and athletics.
As a player for CD Nerja he participated in all categories and as director of CD Nerja saw them promoted to the Third Division. He also played for Granada CF and CD Almuñecar.
During his military service, José Luis Bobadilla Bueno was military champion in the 4×100 metres relay and was one of the founders of the Nerja Athletics Club.
In handball he won championships as a player and also coached the Nerja team. Similarly, he played for the Nerja basketball Team.
José Luis Bobadilla Bueno is also a keen organiser of sports in Nerja and has been doing so now for some fifty years.
