Twenty-year-old Marc Marquez extended his lead at the top of the MotoGP World Championship with victory at Laguna Seca in California, overtaking polesitter Stefan Bradl early in the race. The win stretches his advantage over his Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa to 16 points. Stefan Bradl finished second with Valentino Rossi in third place.
