The Council is set to ask the Junta de Andalucia to allow the contractor appointed to construct the fords over the rio Seco to actually begin the work and as soon as possible.
The project was drafted two years ago as part of the Encamina 2 programme of the Ministry of Agriculture and the building licence was issued by Nerja Council. In the meantime, the Junta de Andalucia has on several occasions expressed a readiness to start the work ‘as soon as possible’.
According to the Council, there is apparently still some paperwork to be completed within various dependencies of the Junta de Andalucia before the work can actually begin. In essence, the Council is just asking the Junta de Andalucia to ‘get on with it’.
