A fire at an hotel on Avenida del Sol in Benalmadena on Friday morning necessitated the precautionary evacuation of 150 staff and visitors as thick smoke enveloped the building.
The fire began at around 07:55 on Friday morning on the bar terrace and thick smoke affected several floors. The emergency plan was put into operation and the staff and visitors were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
No-one was injured in the incident and the fire was extinguished at around 11:25. The cause of the fire is thought to have been a failure in an electricity box.
