The heavy rains on Saturday caused flooding in parts of Torre del Mar, with several roads having to be closed to traffic.
Small ponds formed in El Copo and Las Melosas as up to 21 litres of water per square metre fell in just under four hours. The overflow system at Torre del Mar beach was not open and operational, this having been planned for next week, and this led to the flooding in various areas.
According to the Civil Protection, the storms were meant to be in Almeria but ‘went astray’ and hit Málaga province instead.
