The journalist Eduardo San Martín, who has variously worked for Efe, El País, ABC and Televisión Española, has donated a lift to the colegio Nueva Nerja after hearing an appeal on the Onda Cero radio show ‘Julia en la onda’.
The show featured an appeal by the parents of a disabled child for the installation of a lift in the school and Eduardo San Martín responded via Twitter to say that he had an unused lift they could have.
So, how did a journalist come to have a spare lift hanging around? Well, he purchased the lift, valued at around €15,000, with a neighbour whose wife suffered mobility problems. However, the Galician Council refused to grant the necessary permission for its installation.
