During the summer months, Local Police in Benalmádena confiscated a total of 9,085 items from illegal hawkers on the streets of the municipality.
The confiscated items are destined for the Solid Waste Plant where they will be destroyed.
The number of counterfeit items seized has increased by 36% compared to last year. The measures adopted to combat illegal hawking, which has a negative impact on local traders, included the setting up of a dedicated and permanent police unit to tackle the problem.
