According to the Council, around 1,000 people took part in the 57th Carrera Urbana Feria de Nerja and the 29th Trofeo de Marcha Atlética Villa de Nerja held on Sunday. The start and finish of all races was the Balcón de Europa,
The winner of the 8km race was Javier Díaz Carretero from San Pedro Alcantara, with Ossama Rmidi in second and Cristóbal Ortigosa in third, both members of Cueva de Nerja-UMA.
The women’s race was won by Esther Hidalgo, with Eugenia Galán in second, both from Cueva de Nerja-UMA, and Susana Segovia from Atletismo Málaga in third place.
The 29th Trofeo de Marcha was won by Luis Alberto Amezcua from Guadix with Juan Antonio Porras of Unicaja Jaén in second and Rubén Piñera of CAI Gran Canarias in third place. In the women’s race, Ainhoa Pinedo of Maratón de Madrid led the way home, followed by María Pérez of Cueva de Nerja-UMA and Dolores Marco of Milenium de Torrevieja in third place.
