Barca through to last sixteen

Miranda, Garcia, Filipe and, inevitably, Diego Costa all found the net for Atlético Madrid as they overcame Austria Wien 4-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Lionel Messi returned to his brilliant best to help Barcelona to a 3-1 victory against AC Milan, scoring two goals himself, the first a penalty. Busquets was the other scorer for Barca although all the goals were in fact scored by Barcelona players, Piqué putting one into his own net just before the break.

Barcelona are now through to the last sixteen. Messi, who hadn’t scored for four games, has now scored 5 goals or more in seven successive Champions League seasons, another record for the Argentinian wizard.
