Soler could soon resume exports to Russia

Industrial Slaughterhouse Soler, based in Estación de Cártama and distributing meats and sausages under the brand name Prolongo, could soon be allowed to resume at least partial exports to the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

The Russian Federation decided to stop the import of Spanish pork and other meat products in April 2013 pending checks on compliance with health and hygiene regulations relating to sausages at exporting companies.

Since the ban, inspectors have audited 22 establishments in Spain and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment is awaiting the final approval for a resumption in trade of meat products, although not for pork meat itself which remains banned.
