It has become a three-way battle for La Liga after Atletico Madrid and Barcelona both drew their respective matches on Sunday evening and are now only one point ahead of Real Madrid.
Villa opened the scoring for Atlético early in the first half but a 73rd minute penalty from Rakitic made the final score Atlético 1-1 Sevilla.
Barcelona, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw at Levante. Vintra put Levante ahead after just ten minutes of play but the lead didn’t last long as, nine minutes later, Piqué levelled the scores. And that’s the way it stayed.
